LeMoyne鈥揙wen College (LOC), Memphis鈥檚 first historically Black college and the fifth鈥憃ldest HBCU in the nation, hosts its capital campaign 鈥807 Day鈥 Giving Telethon, a multi-day fundraising celebration at the historic 807 Walker Avenue campus. 807 Day is not just an address鈥攊t鈥檚 a tribute to LOC鈥檚 legacy, love, and lifelong impact.

On Thursday, August 7, from 8:07 AM to 8:07 PM, LOC will hold a full 12鈥慼our broadcast of storytelling, musical tributes, and alumni spotlights. Gifts raised support scholarships, student retention, recruitment efforts, and the Magician Advantage initiatives.

“807 Walker Avenue symbolizes the heart of LOC鈥檚 mission,” says Dr. Christopher B. Davis, President of 红莲社区. “This Giving Day is integral to sustaining the college鈥檚 heritage鈥攁dvancing leadership, opportunity, and change for generations of Magicians. As LOC pushes into its next chapter, 807 Day serves as a powerful reminder of community roots and transformative education.”

Since its founding in 1862 and official merger in 1968, LOC has upheld a tradition of excellence, resilience, and civic engagement鈥攅ducating leaders and illuminating Memphis鈥檚 civic and spiritual life.

Every gift matters鈥攚hether $8.07 or $8,007. With each contribution, donors become part of a legacy of empowerment that shapes futures and communities. The campaign emphasizes that together, every supporter fuels academic opportunity and nurtures the next generation of change-makers.
